This is the third and final phase of a four-year long programme to resurface and replace joints on the M6 between junction 5 at Castle Bronwich and junction 6, Gravely Hill.
Sarah Churchill, project sponsor for Highways Agency, said: "This is essential maintenance work to ensure the safety of motorists using this stretch of the M6 and avoid the need for unplanned emergency repairs in the future.

"We will remove the existing surface and then lay a new road surface on all four lanes.
"Work is expected to start early June and will last for about 11 weeks. We will be working 24 hours per day, seven days a week to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible, while causing the minimum disruption to road users."
There will be a contra-flow system in operation with 3 narrow lanes available in each direction throughout the day and a temporary 50mph mandatory speed limit for the duration of the works for the safety of motorists and road workers. This will be enforced by use of an average speed safety camera system.
