Scotland builder Rok has acquired Dundee-based heating and plumbing contractor Pitkerro Ltd in a deal worth £3m.
Pitkerro, which has an annual turnover of around £9m, currently employs over 100 people providing plumbing and heating services to the building industry in the Northeast of Scotland, including Aberdeen.
The acquisition further strengthens Rok's position as one of the biggest and most successful building firms in Scotland following the firm’s takeover of Tulloch Construction in 2006. George Fraser, Managing Director of Rok Scotland, said: "Pitkerro Ltd is a great geographical fit for Rok in Scotland, helping us to expand into the Fife area for the first time and further enhance our position as the nation’s local builder. The company undoubtedly has a lot of growth potential which will allow Rok to enhance its services in the heating and plumbing sector, for the benefit of all new and existing customers."
Garvis Snook, Chief Executive of Rok, added: "We are delighted that such a well respected business as Pitkerro has agreed to join Rok. This acquisition helps continue our strategy of expanding our mechanical and engineering services in Scotland and throughout the UK."
John Wiseman, Managing Director of Pitkerro, commented: "Having nurtured Pitkerro into one of Scotland's leading plumbing and heating companies, we feel that being part of the Rok group will strengthen our position in the marketplace and provide exciting career opportunities for our employees."
Pitkerro's directors John and Wallace Wiseman will be remaining with the business whose customers include many of Scotland’s local authorities and housing associations.
