A Dartford-based company is leading the field with its photographic-quality images and animations for the building and construction industries.
Pixel Aspect’s work creates something far removed from the disappointing ‘artist’s impressions’ or blocky ‘computer-generated scenes’ of recent years, with dynamic and totally convincing rendering that look like real-life film or photographs.
These communicate not only the design but the space, feel and atmosphere of the buildings – at even the earliest stage of the development. Used by developers, housing associations and architects across the UK, Pixel Aspect’s work is bringing the industry firmly into the 21st century.
Justyn Stevens explains: “We take the architects drawings and build a 3D CAD model of the building. But we don’t stop there. Real-life materials and lighting are added and the animation paths devised before the final image is rendered. We finish off with painting and editing until we, and our client, are happy that the image is as accurate and realistic as possible. You really get the impression that you are walking round a building. Some people watching the animations are not sure if it is computer-generated or an actual film."
Amanda McGuire, Housing Manager at Testway Housing, said: “Our housing officers have found this DVD to be an excellent tool. As well as using it during the initial workshops, they can provide on-going training for the residents of this development in a far more interesting – and so far more effective - way than more traditional communication methods such as leaflets or standard presentations."
