Seven new sustainable commercial units have been completed at Bodmin’s Normandy Way Business Hub, creating a new high-quality workspace for businesses across Cornwall.
Cornish developer Treveth Commercial LLP has officially completed the development at Walker Lanes Industrial Estate, delivering 910 square metres of flexible commercial space designed for light industrial, manufacturing, distribution and warehouse occupiers.
The completion was marked with an opening event attended by project partners, stakeholders and local businesses, who were invited to tour the new facilities and find out more about the development.
Built by Poltair Construction, the Normandy Way Business Hub has been designed to meet growing demand for modern, energy-efficient employment space in Cornwall. The project was supported by the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Good Growth Programme and part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The seven units are available for B2/B8 use, providing flexible accommodation for businesses looking to expand or establish operations in the area. Each unit has been built to high standards of sustainability, accessibility and future adaptability.
Features include:
- 6m eaves height and open-plan layouts
- Solar PV panels and electric vehicle charging points at every unit
- Energy-efficient construction with enhanced insulation
- Roller shutter doors, parking facilities and cycle storage
- Mezzanine-ready designs allowing future expansion
The development also delivers a biodiversity net gain through improved landscaping and sustainable site design.
Environmental measures were incorporated throughout construction, including a redesigned sub-base solution that enabled materials to be reused on site. This helped avoid around 4,000 cubic metres of soil movement and saved more than five tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions.
The completed Normandy Way Business Hub provides a new base for businesses seeking sustainable, flexible workspace while supporting continued investment in Cornwall’s commercial infrastructure.
