Story Homes Launches 2026 Apprenticeship Programme

Story Homes has officially opened applications for its 2026 apprenticeship programme, offering six new positions designed to develop the next generation of talent within the construction industry.

The two-year fixed-term programme allows candidates to work toward nationally recognised qualifications while gaining practical experience and earning a salary. The 2026 intake features diverse opportunities across several regional hubs, ranging from site-based trades to head-office business functions.

The following apprenticeship roles are now open for applications:

• Carlisle, Cumbria: Bricklaying Apprentice

• Carlisle, Cumbria: Commercial (Quantity Surveyor) Apprentice

• Carlisle, Cumbria: Marketing and Communications Apprentice

• Chorley, Lancashire: Commercial (Quantity Surveyor) Apprentice

• Newcastle upon Tyne: Aftercare Apprentice

Paul Eilles, Head of HR at Story Homes, said: "We are delighted to officially launch our 2026 apprenticeship programme and open these opportunities to people across our regions. Whether you are taking your first steps into the world of work, considering a career change, or looking to formalise your skills with a recognised qualification, an apprenticeship with Story Homes offers a real and rewarding pathway."

The programme is built on an established culture of mentorship. Current apprentices, such as Mae Huscroft (Architectural Design and Build) and Oliver Robinson (Commercial), have highlighted the supportive environment and the balance between academic learning and hands-on responsibility as key benefits of the scheme.

Beyond the new 2026 roles, Story Homes currently supports 12 other colleagues in ongoing apprenticeships across disciplines including Civil Engineering, Accounting, and Public Relations, alongside 11 trainee positions.
