Galliford Try's Bevan Intermediate Care Unit project has been shortlisted for New Build of the Year at the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estates Management (IHEEM) Awards.

Organised by one of the largest UK professional bodies dedicated to research, education and the professional development of healthcare engineers and facilities, the IHEEM Awards focus on continuously improving and developing the healthcare sector.

In partnership with Salford City Council and procured through the Procure Partnerships Framework, the Bevan Unit project, which is based next door to Salford Royal Hospital, was designed to transform intermediate care for the local community.


Delivered alongside DAY Architectural, the new state-of-the-art, 60-bed facility helps patients regain their independence before they return home and contains a mixture of single bedrooms and four-bed bay rooms, staff facilities, catering facilities, dayroom functions, as well as occupational therapy space and a brand-new gymnasium.

The winners will be announced on 4 and 5 October at Manchester Central.
