Cembrit Launches New Cladding Board

Construction News Image
Cembrit has launched a new through-coloured cladding board.

Patina Rough complements the original Patina with its directional grain surface, to offer architects and specifiers a desirable choice of premium cladding for a wide variety of external applications.

"The overwhelmingly positive reception Patina received from the architectural community inspired us to create Patina Rough, a design alternative with all the performance qualities of the original," commented Ged Ferris, Marketing Manager at Cembrit. "Patina Rough has a surface that achieves a natural, cast, or engineered stone cladding-type finish, but at the reduced price and structural cost that is in line with lightweight rainscreen cladding."

Cembrit Patina is a genuinely through-coloured, fibre cement decorative rainscreen cladding. The associated manufacturing and production methods ensure that it is hard-wearing and built to last, as the through-coloured process ensures the bumps, scratches, abrasions and other surface blemishes associated with surface coated claddings are eliminated. In addition, Cembrit also incorporates a dirt resisting process in the production of Patina. It is designed to be installer friendly, as there is no need to seal edges or other cuts, and with Patina being through-coloured, it is much easier to handle on a construction site than surface-coated sheets.

Patina Rough is available in two popular and attractive shades, Flint and Sand. The board also has an A2 non-combustible fire rating according to EN13501, which makes it ideal for new build and over cladding rainscreen applications. The sheets can be used for a range of functions, including rainscreen cladding, weatherboarding, window elements, fascia, balconies and prefabricated facade elements.
