Lovell To Build £15m Housing Scheme In Somerset

Construction News Image
Up to 50 new homes are to be built on the outskirts of Weston-super-Mare in Somerset.

The £15 million Keepers Gate scheme will be developed by Lovell on land at Wentwood Drive.

As part of the scheme, Lovell will create a number of training opportunities through the development including apprenticeships and work placements, giving local people the chance to learn new skills by working on the construction programme.

Lovell Regional Managing Director, Kate Rees, said: "We're thrilled to have acquired this fantastic site which is minutes from stunning Somerset countryside and just a short distance from the imposing sweep of Weston Bay, with views stretching across the Bristol Channel to Wales.

"Our new properties will make the most of their amazing setting, featuring light-filled contemporary interiors, perfect for modern lifestyles. We're confident they will appeal to a range of purchasers, including first-time buyers, downsizers and families looking to upsize at Keepers Gate.

"As well as an impressive stretch of the North Somerset coastline on their doorstep, buyers will gain all the advantages of an established residential location on the fringes of this well-connected and characterful seaside town."

Work is scheduled to start this winter, with completion scheduled for 2019.
