McGee has been appointed to carry out demolition works for The London School of Economics (LSE).
The company will act as Principal Contractor for the deconstruction and demolition works of an existing eight-storey building as part of its 44 Lincoln's Inn Fields project in central London.
The redevelopment is part of LSE's plan to create a new world-class campus at the site, to be known as 'The Marshall Building'.
The facility will house the academic departments of Accounting, Finance and Management and research centres, including the Financial Markets Group and the Marshall Institute. It will also contain teaching, sports and arts facilities.
Main works are scheduled to begin in September and McGee will be on site until Spring 2018.
Nick Taylor, McGee's Head of Demolition, said: "We have been fortunate enough to secure the project and are looking forward to working with LSE and their professional team."
Julian Robinson, LSE's Director of Estates said: "LSE has a very ambitious Estates Strategy but given our constrained location, doesn't seem to have any easy projects. We need top quality contractors to deliver them and McGee has made an impressive start."
