Industry materials suppler GRS has purchased two bagged aggregate operations in Staffordshire and Devon.
The sites were acquired from Aggregate Industries (part of LafargeHolcim) and marks GRS' second acquisition of the year, having recently completed the purchase of rival Cornish supplier Maen Karne.
The new plants are located at Barton under Needwood, near Burton upon Trent, and at Uffculme, near Taunton.
GRS said the facilities will improve its local offering in the Midlands and South West, securing the firm's place as the UK's number one packed aggregate supplier.
Jon Fisher, Chief Executive Officer, added the acquisition "reflects our optimism in the economy and the building industry".
"Over the next few weeks we'll be working to ensure a seamless transition for existing customers of the two plants so they start to experience the high levels of service we're able to provide, coupled with an extensive range of core, decorative and specialised aggregates," he concluded.
