Network Rail is due to begin a railway upgrade programme between Newport and Shrewsbury.
Engineers will carry out improvement works over six consecutive weekends from 11 June until Sunday, 17 July.
Features include essential maintenance work, track renewals (including significant work at Shrewsbury station) and signalling upgrade work in and around Hereford station.
The project is part of the company's £40 billion Railway Upgrade Plan.
Paul McMahon, Wales route MD for Network Rail, said: "These essential improvement works will mean better, more reliable journeys for the record numbers of passengers using the railway."
