Delivery company UPS has announced plans to build a new package sorting and delivery facility at a logistics site in London.

The £120m facility will be developed at the DP World London Gateway site in Thurrock, Essex.

The development will act as a UK hub and distribution centre, able to process approximately 30,000 packages per hour.

It is expected to be completed in summer 2017.

Planning consent was confirmed under the London Gateway Local Development Order within 17 days.
