Wates Scoops £11m Contract

Wates Construction has scooped an £11 million deal to build a three storey school building in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The firm has been appointed to remodel the Girls' Day School Trust's Victorian buildings at Tankerville Terrace.

The new extension, designed by architects Ellis Williams, will include a multi-purpose assembly hall, dining room, fitness suite, state of the art science labs and additional classroom spaces.

The project will also include landscaping of the whole site.

Work is expected to start this month, with completion scheduled for summer 2016.
