BAM Wins £16m Contract

Construction firm BAM has scooped a £16 million contract to transform Graves Leisure Centre in Sheffield.

The contract, awarded by Sheffield City Council, includes developing a 25m swimming pool, a smaller training pool, a gym and fitness suite, trampoline space, dance studios and X-ray and clinical examination rooms.

Graves Leisure Centre broke ground last week, with completion scheduled for summer 2016. Photovoltaic cells and other renewable energy will be used to help the project meet sustainability aims.

BAM will also work with local suppliers, workers and the community on the project as part of the YORbuild framework.
