CITB Forms New Council

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has formed a new Council provide advice on the skills challenges facing construction and help shape the organisation's future direction.

The Council's main role will be to advise CITB’s new 8-member Board, which was appointed by Skills Minister Nick Boles.

The Council includes representatives from large construction companies, SMEs, civil engineering firms, and higher education institutions, as well as Unite the Union and the National Trust. Both the new advisory Council and Board will be chaired by James Wates CBE.

CITB Chief Executive, Adrian Belton, said: "This is the next step in CITB’s transformation. The new Council will ensure the voice of representatives from across the industry is clearly heard and they will play a key role in shaping the future of skills for our sector."
