Safety Surfacing Ideal For Installation Around Swimming Pools

Construction News Image
In a swimming pool environment there is heightened risk of someone slipping, tripping and falling to the floor as many surfaces do become extremely slippy when wet. Safety in the instance of a swimming pool should never be taken lightly which is why we strongly recommend installation of our safety surfaces.

DCM Surfaces has installed a number of poolside safety surfaces around swimming pools, within water parks and also in activity centres. We have also installed wet pour safety surfacing within a domestic setting too with a number of residential properties which feature swimming pools.

In most cases many of our clients choose to go for green wet pour surfacing to give the effect of having grass in place. Usually we do a 50/50 mix of our May Green and Forest Green wet pour surfacing although in some other cases the theme of water is continued and we do a 50/50 mix of sly blue and dark blue colours.

In some cases however, we create the look of gravel using our specialised earth blend colour mix which adds a real touch of class to any surface. Another one of our popular specialised colour mixes is the water blend which looks really good when contrast against the water of a swimming pool.

Installing a safety surface alongside the swimming pool adds peace of mind prevents slips and falls and although not necessary sometimes for extra safety we can add an anti-slip spray onto the surface. Usually however, the anti-slip spray isn’t required as providing the safety surface is well maintained and regularly cleaned then the surface will not be slippy anyway.

More traditional swimming pool surrounds can be slippery especially when they become wet. We have installed our wet pour safety surfaces around a number of swimming pools now and thus we have helped to heavily reduce the number of accidents. Since the installation of the safety surfacing many of our clients have commented on how fewer accidents there are. There is the added advantage that the surfacing looks good, is available in a full range of colours and if you’re really feeling adventurous then there is the option to add designs into the surfacing too!

You get all the above advantages with the safety surfacing as well as putting safety first! Another fantastic advantage however is that wet pour surfacing is actually porous, which means that water will pass through the surfacing making it ideal for use around poolsides. The safety surface can prevent puddings and the build-up of any surface water which again reduces risk of someone slipping, tripping or falling to the ground and sustaining a serious injury.

If you have a poolside surface requirement then speak to our highly experienced team here at DCM Surfaces. All of our installation team members hold CSCS cards and are CRB checked on a regular basis so you can rest assured you’re in the safest of hands.

For poolside surfacing then please contact us today and we will be more than happy to help you out.
