The Solutions 4 North Tyneside (S4NT) consortium has awarded national maintenance specialist Lovell a £32.8 million total turnover contract to deliver facilities management services for a major sheltered housing development and improvement project in North Tyneside.
Under the new contract, which started this week, Lovell will provide repairs and maintenance services to the consortium which is undertaking the £300 million Quality Homes for Older People initiative with North Tyneside Council.
The scheme will deliver 922 apartments across ten new and 16 refurbished sheltered housing schemes in North Tyneside, providing high-quality, modern accommodation enabling older residents to continue to live independently. The S4NT members are Equitix, majority shareholders, and Miller Construction.
Lovell will provide comprehensive facilities management services for the sheltered housing accommodation – which is located across North Tyneside including schemes in Wallsend, Cullercoats, Whitley Bay and Seaton Burn – over a 28-year period. The services provided will include responsive repairs, planned and cyclical maintenance, repairs to void properties and gas and electricity servicing and testing.
