BAM Construct Selected For Network Rail Campus

BAM Construct has been selected to deliver a new regional campus in Basingstoke.

Network Rail selected the firm ahead of rivals Carillion, Kier, Morgan Sindall and Mace, according to the Construction Enquirer.

It is thought work will begin on the six acre site near the town centre in August, once planning approval is granted, and once completed, the facility will become the new regional headquarters for Network Rail and house up to 2,000 staff.

The new operating centre will control rail signals across the entire Wessex route, which covers rail track from London Waterloo, Weymouth, Guildford and Salisbury.

In addition to the signal centre, Network Rail will create a workforce development centre and welding training centre with a 140m external practice track.
