By-Pass Improvements Begin

Resurfacing work is due to start on the A6 Taddington by-pass in Derbyshire today.

The £300,000 repair scheme will be carried out between 7pm to 6am each night for around two weeks, except at weekends.

Improvements will be carried out along a 1.2 mile stretch between the junction with Hollow o' the Moor and the junction with Main Street at the eastern end of the village.

One side of the carriageway will remain closed to allow work to take place while the opposite side remains open to traffic, controlled by temporary traffic lights.

Councillor Simon Spencer, Deputy Leader and cabinet member for highways and transport, said: "Improving Derbyshire's roads is one of our top priorities.

"We've set aside £20m to help improve Derbyshire's roads this year and we hope motorists will bear with us while this important repair work takes place.

"We apologise for any inconvenience which may be caused."
