Stockport-based Multibuild, part of the Balfour Beatty group has appointed a new Managing Director.

Jason Taylor (40) is now at the helm of the multi-million pound market leader in construction, refurbishment and fit-out whose recent contract wins total in excess of £35m. He takes over from the original founder of Multibuild, Mike Peden who will step down as MD this month.

Multibuild employs 70 staff from premises in Stockport and was acquired by the global infrastructure giants Balfour Beatty in February 2010. Since the takeover the company has secured a string of major contract wins including: Hilton Hotel's in Birmingham and Lincoln, Holiday Inn's in Birmingham and London plus a six screen cinema fit out in South Wales.

Mr Taylor said: "I am delighted to be taking up the role of managing director with Multibuild. Under Mike Peden’s leadership the company has developed a strong reputation over many years and I look forward to building on this and seeing the business progress further."
