The Olympic Park Construction Crew has celebrated the 100th pupil joining the programme since it began in 2008.
This year's Construction Crew is made up of 40 schoolchildren from the five Host Boroughs – Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Greenwich – bringing the total to 100. They will follow the progress of the Olympic Park 'big build' first-hand.
The Crew will meet people working on the Park and learn about aspects of the project including sustainability, employment and skills, and archaeology.
Olympic Delivery Authority Chief Executive David Higgins said: "The Construction Crew is a great opportunity to involve local young people in the transformation taking place in their area and develop their skills. This year's Crew will see first-hand the Olympic Park 'big build' at its peak with venues being completed and the Park changing from brown to green as plants and trees take root.
"They will also have an insight into the range of specialist construction and regeneration work being carried out on the project and the potential career opportunities the industry can offer."
The 60 Construction Crew graduates from previous years, have moved on to secondary schools, but they will remain involved with the 'big build' project.
