A group of top construction companies have joined forces to provide a £10,000 donation to a charity in Newcastle.
Frank Haslam Milan, Dunelm Property Services and Gentoo Construction got together to support St Clare's Hospice in Jarrow through its corporate partnership scheme.
All three companies signed up to become "joint gold corporate partners" of the hospice situated in Primrose Terrace. Between them the companies donated £10,000 and pledged further support.
A spokesperson for the hospice said their running costs were approximately £1,7500,000 for which they receive a percentage from the local Primary Care Trust with the rest coming from donations and fundraising by the public and from businesses.
Hospice fundraiser Sylvia Stoneham said: "The companies who work with South Tyneside Homes to deliver their Decent Homes Programme are always keen to support the community they are working with, and have become acutely aware that the hospice is a major source of support and help to many of their customers.
"I am delighted that they are truly committed to fulfilling their corporate social responsibility by supporting us this way.
