Leading housing provider Sanctuary Group and East Devon District Council have celebrated the unveiling of new housing scheme Bonners Drive, Axminster.
Councillor Sara Randall Johnson, Leader of East Devon District Council, will be attending the launch event where there will be a brief address from Richard Keeley, Sanctuary Shaftesbury's regional manager, before a tour of the new homes.
Bonners Drive is a new development of 12 high quality homes, comprising eight three and four bed houses and four apartments, all for affordable rent. The £1 million development is the result of a partnership between Sanctuary Group, East Devon District Council, and the Homes and Communities Agency, with contractor Halsall Construction completing the work.
The homes, which will be managed by Sanctuary Shaftesbury, a subsidiary of Sanctuary Group, are all designed and built to the latest standards in energy efficiency and sustainability and include eco features such as a rainwater recycling system and solar heated hot water which will provide highly cost-effective energy facilities for residents.
Verena Womersley, Sanctuary's Senior Development Manager said: "The new development at Bonners Drive will provide much needed affordable housing in the area, which will help local people stay in the region at an affordable price.
"Working in partnership, Sanctuary and East Devon District Council have worked hard to bring this development to fruition, providing new homes that the town of Axminster can be proud of."
