Willmott Dixon Moves To Bigger Premises

One of the biggest employers in Hitchin is on the move, but only to larger premises within the town.

The construction company Willmott Dixon, which has had a presence in Hitchin for more than 100 years, has moved its regional construction office from Park Street to a bigger property in nearby Wilbury Way as it continues to expand and create new jobs.

Managing Director Chris Tredget explained: "We were at our Park Street office for 23 years and during that time the business has grown enormously. We needed more space and I'm delighted that we found an ideal location in Wilbury Way, thus maintaining our historic link with Hitchin.

"We have a big part to play in contributing to the region's economy both in creating jobs and working with local companies."

Willmott Dixon's Hitchin office is the company's regional base from where it delivers construction projects across a range of industry sectors in the northern Home Counties and London. Current projects being delivered include a new library building in Luton for University of Bedfordshire, Batchwood Sports Centre in St Albans, an extension to Mossbourne Academy in Hackney, a new head office for City & Guilds in Farringdon and several schools in Bedfordshire.
