CField Construction has been officially appointed by Fusion Group as main contractor for two major UK residential developments, with a combined contract value of £176 million.
The schemes will deliver purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) and affordable housing in London and Glasgow, with completion scheduled ahead of the 2028 academic year.
In London, CField Construction will deliver a £97 million mixed-use development in Wood Green. The scheme will include a 636-bed PBSA facility alongside 79 affordable homes, as well as public realm spaces and sustainable amenities designed to support a community-focused urban environment.
In Glasgow, the company has commenced work on a £79 million PBSA project on Sauchiehall Street. The 633-bed development will retain the existing 1930s Art Deco façade while incorporating the reinstatement of the historic Wellington Arcade. The scheme aims to enhance the surrounding streetscape and provide student accommodation aligned with the city’s growing higher education needs.
Both developments form part of a wider strategy by Fusion Group and CField Construction to expand their presence across key UK cities through large-scale residential and mixed-use regeneration projects.
Gavin O'Flaherty, Managing Director of CField Construction, said the contracts represent a significant milestone for the business.
"Securing these two major contracts with Fusion Group is an important milestone for CField Construction and a strong endorsement of our team’s delivery capability in the living sector. Wood Green and Sauchiehall Street are both high-profile, complex urban schemes, and our focus is now on delivering them safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. We look forward to working closely with Fusion Group and the wider project teams to bring forward high-quality accommodation and affordable homes that make a positive contribution to their local communities."
