Sir Robert McAlpine (SRM) has formed a strategic partnership with Bridgit, the AI-powered workforce planning specialist for the construction industry.
Under the agreement, SRM will roll out Bridgit's platform to modernise how it plans, assigns and retains talent for some of Britain's most complex infrastructure schemes.
Positioned as the only AI system purpose-built for construction workforce planning, the platform represents a step-change in how SRM manages its people across an expanding project portfolio.
By leveraging SRM's historic workforce data, Bridgit will surface patterns and suggestions that improve over time, offering immediate insight into each team member's experience and credentials — including past projects, certifications, availability, location and tenure.
Planners will be able to query the platform directly and receive AI-driven recommendations while building and balancing project teams, enabling a shift from spreadsheet-based methods to a structured, data-led approach that supports proactive decision-making.
With Bridgit, SRM expects to:
• Match people to roles more effectively — with AI suggestions based on skills, experience and availability, plus the ability to query the platform during planning.
• Align resource plans with the project pipeline — using timelines and sector mix to enable earlier, more precise resourcing.
• Improve visibility of teams — with quick views of composition, tenure and experience for live and forthcoming projects.
• Support junior talent — by analysing the "rookie ratio" to ensure early-career staff are paired with experienced colleagues before mobilisation.
Nadeem Mirza, Resourcing and Workforce Planning Director, Sir Robert McAlpine, said: "Our people are our greatest competitive advantage, and ensuring the right talent is in the right place at the right time is central to how we deliver for our clients.
"Bridgit gives us the visibility and rigour to plan our workforce with the same precision we bring to our project programmes. In an environment where skilled talent is increasingly constrained, that capability is essential."
Mallorie Brodie, CEO of Bridgit, said: "Sir Robert McAlpine is exactly the kind of contractor that demonstrates why workforce intelligence matters. They operate at the highest level of complexity, with programmes that span years and teams that must perform without margin for error.
"Our data shows that the companies leading the industry in workforce planning have a measurably longer planning horizon and lower attrition than their peers. Partnering with SRM to bring that approach to the UK market is something we're genuinely proud of."
