Galliford Try has been selected for a £34 million programme to deliver fire safety upgrades at HMP Lincoln via the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) Framework.
The scheme covers the design, installation, testing and commissioning of prison-wide fire safety improvements at the Category B facility in Lincoln town centre.
Planned works include enhancements to detection, emergency lighting, suppression and ventilation systems; the replacement and upgrading of fire doors; general lighting renewal; replacement of cell call systems; and the safe removal of any asbestos identified during the project.
Oak Fire Protection will work alongside Galliford Try to provide specialist fire safety expertise integral to the programme.
Jon Marston, Managing Director for Building East Midlands, commented: "Working on the fire safety improvements for HMP Lincoln is a testament to our strong track record in the custodial sector and across the region, including our work at HMP Rye Hill, HMP Wayland and HMP Whatton. We look forward to delivering these vital improvements, supported by our team’s specialist expertise and proven capability."
