Persimmon Homes Wessex has received reserved matters approval from Vale of White Horse District Council for the next phase of its Valley Park development in Didcot.
The latest phase will deliver 172 new homes, including 61 homes reserved for a local housing association, following the design principles set out in earlier phases and the site-wide Design Code.
Construction on Phase 3A and 3B is set to begin in a matter of weeks, with the first occupations expected later this year. This announcement comes shortly after builders broke ground on a three-form entry primary school adjacent to Common Park and the Local Centre, which will also include a nursery and community-use spaces.
Once fully complete, Valley Park will comprise 4,254 homes, two primary schools, a special educational needs (SEN) school, local centres, and sports facilities, creating a sustainable and well-connected community in Didcot.
Homes are currently available for purchase at Valley Park from £216,995, while Persimmon’s sister brand, Charles Church, is offering premium homes from £384,995.
Commenting on the approval, Persimmon Homes Wessex Managing Director Seb Spiller said: "Valley Park has been a great success story so far and we are making swift progress on delivering on our commitment to bring new housing and infrastructure to Didcot.
"Therefore, securing another reserved matters consent was an early Christmas present that gave local contractors and residents confidence that the progress on expanding Didcot in a sustainable and advantageous way will continue.
"As with previous phases, we have ensured our latest application will be well integrated into the wider development with strong links to community focal points, whilst continuing to deliver high-quality homes for our customers."
