As part of Chesterfield's wider town centre regeneration, Burlington House has undergone a striking transformation—thanks in large part to Valcan's VitraDual panels.
Originally built in the 1960s, the four-storey building was revitalised by developer ALB Group to combine established retail units on the ground floor with newly created affordable residential apartments above.
To support this vision, main contractor HBW Ltd delivered a full façade upgrade using 527m² of Valcan's VitraDual panels in a modern concrete grey finish. Installed via the VitraFix subframe system with colour-matched rivets, the system offers a clean, contemporary aesthetic while providing long-term performance in a busy urban environment.
Crucially, VitraDual offers A1 fire classification to BS EN 13501-1 , being made from 100% solid aluminium. Unlike composite panels with combustible cores, VitraDual delivers exceptional safety, making it a preferred choice for residential and high-occupancy buildings.
Durable, corrosion-resistant, and low maintenance, the VitraDual system not only enhanced the visual appeal of Burlington Street but also ensured full compliance with the latest building safety regulations. The updated façade has been widely praised by local stakeholders and is now seen as a key element in Chesterfield's evolving architectural identity.
For Valcan, Burlington House demonstrates how high-performance cladding can elevate regeneration projects—delivering safety, style, and sustainability in one complete solution.
