Bouygues UK has been appointed as the main contractor for the redevelopment of the Rosedale College site in the London Borough of Hillingdon, following an award by the Department for Education (DfE) under its School Rebuilding Programme.
The major project will transform Rosedale College into a modern, technology-focused and applied learning institution, replacing outdated 1960s buildings with contemporary, energy-efficient facilities.
The redevelopment will include the construction of new teaching and performing arts blocks, a full refurbishment of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) block, and the enhancement of sports fields and Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGAs). The scheme will also deliver new dining and social canopy areas, improved site infrastructure, and the reinstatement of sports fields following the removal of temporary accommodation.
Bouygues UK will work alongside Stride Treglown and NVB Landscape as part of the project’s design team.
A key focus of the redevelopment will be achieving net zero carbon in operation, reflecting the DfE's and Bouygues UK’s shared commitment to sustainability.
In addition to the physical transformation of the site, Bouygues UK will deliver social value initiatives through its ‘Adopt a School’ programme in partnership with Class of Your Own. This initiative will support the award-winning Design Engineer Construct! (DEC) Learning Programme, engaging young people in the built environment sector and helping them develop skills and awareness around sustainability and community impact.
The redevelopment of Rosedale College marks a significant investment in educational infrastructure in Hillingdon, strengthening the borough's provision for future generations of students. The project is scheduled for completion in autumn 2028.
