The Bracknell Forest Cambium Partnership between Countryside Partnerships (part of the Vistry Group) and Bracknell Forest Council has celebrated a major milestone in the transformation of Bracknell town centre, as its 169-home Market Street regeneration scheme reaches its highest point.
A topping out ceremony was held on the 17-storey Block A, marking the moment all three buildings in the development have now reached roof level. The event was attended by representatives from Countryside Partnerships, Bracknell Forest Council, and Abri, who will manage the affordable housing component of the project.
Located on the site of the former derelict bus depot, the Market Street development will deliver 169 mixed-tenure homes, with 81 designated as affordable—split between affordable rent and shared ownership. This makes up 48% of the total homes being built. Funding for the affordable units will come from Abri, supported by grant funding through its Strategic Partnership with Homes England.
Construction began last year, and the homes are on track for completion by late 2026. In addition to housing, the scheme includes 848 sq m of commercial space and extensive public realm improvements such as new landscaping, tree planting, and enhanced pedestrian and cycling routes.
The development complements the retail and leisure offerings at The Lexicon and is part of a broader £131 million regeneration initiative driven by the Cambium Partnership. Market Street is the second site to be developed under this joint venture, following the successful delivery of 52 new homes at the Coopers Hill site.
Nick Churcher, Managing Director for Vistry West London, said: "Reaching the highest point of Market Street is a testament to the strength of our partnership with Bracknell Forest Council and our shared commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable homes that meet the needs of the local community. This development not only brings much-needed affordable housing to the area but also contributes to the wider regeneration of Bracknell town centre. We look forward to continuing our work with all partners involved as we move towards completion next year."
