Leeds United Football Club has revealed proposed design images for the long-anticipated redevelopment of Elland Road, marking a significant step forward in modernising the historic stadium.
The visual concepts follow the club's initial announcement in September 2024 outlining ambitions to enhance and expand the ground. The latest milestone comes as Leeds City Council’s Executive Board recently gave unanimous support to the wider regeneration vision. Councillors will now consider the pre-application proposal at a Plans Panel meeting on Thursday 8 May 2025.
Central to the redevelopment is an increase in capacity from the current 37,645 to a proposed 53,000, with the upper limit set at 56,500. The plans focus on the transformation of the West and North Stands, as well as upgrades to the South Stand, aimed at improving both general admission and hospitality facilities. The enhancements are designed to meet soaring demand for tickets, with a waiting list of 26,000 fans currently seeking season tickets.
As part of the consultation process, fans and local residents are invited to learn more and share their feedback. A public exhibition will be held at the Centenary Pavilion at Elland Road on Thursday 22nd May and Friday 23rd May 2025, including a BSL and quiet session. In addition, two community roadshow events will take place earlier in the month at The Holbeck Club on Tuesday 13th May and The Dragon Pub on Monday 19th May, both from 5pm to 8pm.
