A dual-branded development featuring Persimmon and Charles Church homes is set to take shape in Stanway, Colchester, following the completion of a major land purchase at Wyvern Farm.
Persimmon Homes Essex has secured Phase 5 of the development, with outline planning permission already in place for 505 new homes. The company is now working on a detailed planning layout for the site, which will include a mix of high-specification private homes and affordable housing.
The development will highlight the revitalised Charles Church brand with 114 premium homes featuring open-plan layouts, bi-fold doors, kitchen islands, and luxurious bathrooms. In addition, 104 homes will be designated for shared ownership and affordable rent, catering to those whose housing needs are not met by the open market.
As part of the wider masterplan, land has been allocated for a new primary school, and Persimmon will contribute £7.5 million in community benefits through a Section 106 agreement.
The new development will also feature individual show homes for both Persimmon and Charles Church, with separate sales offices to differentiate between the two brands.
The Essex team is set to submit their detailed planning layout in the coming weeks, paving the way for construction to begin on the development.
