Torsion Homes Appoints New Managing Director

Torsion Homes has appointed Ian Worthington as its new Managing Director and secured six major new housing schemes with a combined GDV of £38 million.

Ian has previously worked at Torsion Group and brings with him extensive knowledge of both the business and the wider housebuilding sector. With experience in developing, site operations and a proven track record at senior management level, Ian will be focussed on driving forward the Torsion Homes business in this exciting growth period.

Torsion Homes has a clear strategy of creating high quality, sustainable residential dwellings to strict schedules. This gave the investors' confidence that the developments would be brought to market quicker, helping address the UK housing shortage in the process.

Torsion Homes has built a strong reputation for delivering high quality, sustainable developments that provide great places to live.

All six new housing schemes will be built to high levels of sustainability and energy efficiency, with the aim of achieving an EPC rating of B or better, classed as ‘highly efficient’. Each property, which is designed to meet the needs of modern homeowners, will have its own EV chargers along with other low-carbon measures.

Placemaking and creating communities feature highly on Torsion's approach to the developments. The scheme in the heart of Hebden Bridge will create a community of 10 new houses, with their own parking. Torsion will create local employment opportunities and provide skills training in the communities where it has a development.

Ian Worthington, Managing Director at Torsion Homes, said: "I'm delighted to lead the Torsion Homes business and see huge potential for growth over the next few years. We already have 2024 off to a strong start by securing six schemes with a combined GDV of £38m.

"We are now focussed on delivering these projects, whilst developing a number of exciting new opportunities and progressing the project pipelines."
