The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has awarded over £800,000 towards 11 industry projects in England and Scotland.

The funding will be used towards helping firms, training groups or trade associations develop their various schemes.

The National Federation of Builders (NFB) was awarded £231,945 to help create a pilot programme to develop corporate social responsibility among construction SMEs, while the Scottish Building Federation received £120,840 to build the Construction Collaborative Leadership Framework (CCLF) to develop joint solutions on solving industry issues.

In addition, Glasgow-based GMG Contractors secured nearly £50,000 to develop the Manse Skills Academy, which will train apprentices offsite during periods of bad weather. Willmott Dixon also won £18,500 to help fund its new anti-slavery training programme.

Geeta Nathan, Head of Economic Analysis at CITB, said: "I'm excited to announce the latest round of industry-led projects that CITB is supporting. The construction industry faces unique challenges and it's important that we work together to address these issues so that we are well-positioned for the future."
