A bungalow development in Corby has been marked with a completion ceremony.
The council in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Willmott Dixon Homes (WDH) attended the event.
The development in the Lodge Park estate has seen an unused garage forecourt redeveloped into five new bungalows.
The properties are fitted with fuel bill reducing technology and wet rooms that are suitable for elderly residents.
The two bedroomed bungalows provide free electricity for the tenants through solar photovoltaic panels.
Council leader Tom Beattie said: "This is a project that sought to go some way towards addressing a growing older population by building homes that meet need on a small garage site that was underused and in need of regenerating, whilst at the same time addressing fuel poverty issues and reducing Corby's carbon footprint."
Willmott Dixon Homes’ Operation Manager, Gary Round, said: "We are very pleased to be working in partnership with Corby Borough Council and the Homes and Communities Agency on this and other housing projects within the town.
Michael David from the HCA said: "Working closely with Corby Borough Council we know that delivering high-quality affordable housing is a priority and it is for that reason that we are really pleased to be supporting them to deliver both this housing project and various others throughout the borough."
