E.ON's 'Open House' Store Opens In Nottingham

E.ON has opened the doors of its flagship high street store, 'Open House', in the heart of Nottingham, providing face-to-face customer service, help and advice.

Visitors to E.ON's Open House can manage their bills, resolve queries or simply learn how to save energy and money at home.

A trial project as part of E.ON's Reset Review, Open House is one of the ways E.ON is listening to its customers about how they want to deal with their energy supplier.

Speaking at the official opening event, Anthony Ainsworth, Sales and Marketing Director at E.ON, said: "Our customers have told us that face-to-face contact is one of their preferred ways of dealing with their energy supplier.

"Since we implemented our Reset Review, we're not only re-thinking how we talk to customers but also where we talk to them, and we can now have a conversation with our customers in Nottingham at a place that's convenient for them."

A poll for E.ON by YouGov found over a third of people (35%) rank face-to-face contact as their preferred interaction with the companies that play a big part in their lives. Nearly half of those asked (47%) enjoyed their most positive customer experience by talking face-to-face.

Anthony added: "We're also midway through a major training programme for all our frontline customer service team, rolling out nationally accredited energy-saving training to more than 4,000 colleagues. Whether a customer comes to us in store, by telephone or online, we want them to know E.ON can help them save energy."

In this initial trial phase of the first Open House, E.ON will listen to feedback and evaluate the kind of experience its customers find most helpful, in order to evolve how the Open House is run. E.ON is also using this time to consider other cities for future Open House customer service centres.
