Notts Businesses To Play Their Part In £750m School Improvement Project

Nottinghamshire businesses are being encouraged to play a part in helping to transform secondary schools across the county as part of a £750 million programme.

Nottinghamshire County Council is looking for medium to large sized businesses specialising in design, construction, facilities management or ICT services for a partnership to deliver the county’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.

The Council has organised an open day on Wednesday 21 April 2010 at County Hall, West Bridgford, to give potential bidders more information about the project.

The event will include a range of presentations from keynote speakers covering all aspects of the programme and offer prospective bidders an opportunity to meet key stakeholders, councillors, headteachers and pupils participating in the first wave of the project.

Councillor Philip Owen, the County Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "This programme will have a major impact on the future of secondary education in Nottinghamshire and we are keen for local businesses to help deliver the services needed for the project, which will in turn help boost the county's economy."

The deadline for registration is Thursday 15 April.
