Network Rail is to upgrade a railway bridge in Cambridgeshire as part of its Railway Upgrade Plan.
The bridge over Ermine Street in Huntingdon carries the East Coast Main Line through the town.
The structure is to undergo strengthening work, minor repairs and receive a special protective coating to improve long term reliability and keep trains running over the bridge safely.
Phase one of the work is due to take place between 7-9 November between 9pm and 5am.
The same pattern will be repeated for five weekends, with phase one completed by 5am on 13 December.
The second phase will not begin until February next year.
Mark Terry, route MD at Network Rail, said: "Improvements like the work we're doing to Ermine Street bridge keeps passenger and freight services running, which ultimately benefits the economies of the towns and cities served by the railway."
