Leading UK Conference To Focus On 'BIM For Good'

Construction News Image
The UK's original Building Information Modeling (BIM) conference is set to return early next year with the theme 'BIM for Good'.

Taking place in Newcastle on 26-27 February, BIM Show Live 2020 will give guests the opportunity to gain insight from inspirational talks and learn more about how the digital construction industry is using BIM for good.

The 'BIM for Good' theme aims to highlight BIM's role in delivering positive outcomes such as helping to reduce carbon emissions, creating safer environments and maximising efficiencies in buildings and cities.

Rob Charlton, CEO of Space Group and co-founder of BIM Show Live said: "We're delighted to announce 'BIM for Good' as our BIM Show Live theme for 2020.

"BIM Show Live has always encouraged positive discussions about the future. Our world faces many challenges and the construction and property industries have a huge impact on many of these. For example, 39% of carbon emission come directly or indirectly from buildings.

"The construction sector is transforming and digitising quickly and we now have the opportunity to use many of the benefits of technology to address some of the issues facing the world. Rather than looking at resolving our own issues, we have an opportunity to play a part in solving some broader social issues."

BIM Show Live attracts up to 400 delegates every year and provides a unique opportunity for built environment professionals to exchange knowledge on the emerging ideas and technological advancements in digital construction and beyond.

Event attendees benefit from over 30 seminar sessions and four high profile keynote speakers discussing the latest trends, innovations and exciting new projects.

Over the course of two days, sessions will be delivered by over 50 leading figures across four key content streams; Technology, Stories, People and Next Generation.

Reflecting the 2020 event theme, a brand new award category has been added to the BIM Awards 2020. The BIM for Good Award will champion those pioneers working to help others and the environment, and is one of 10 award categories open for entries until 07 November 2019. The awards are free to enter online at www.bimshowlive.co.uk.

Early bird tickets for BIM Show Live 2020 are also available here.
