Rockwool Awarded Safety Council's Sword Of Honour

Rockwool, the world's leading manufacturer of non-combustible stone wool insulation, has been awarded the British Safety Council’s prestigious 'Sword of Honour' accolade for 2011 in recognition of the company’s outstanding health and safety performance.

The award represents a pinnacle of achievement in the world of health and safety management and is open only to organisations that achieve a five star rating in the British Safety Council Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit. Applications are assessed by a panel of independent adjudicators, comprised of senior industrial health and safety professionals and examiners from the British Safety Council’s awarding body.

We intend on continuing to work with organisations such as the British Safety Council to maintain the high health and safety levels at our facilities. We constantly review our policies and procedures to ensure we continue to lead the way in best practice manufacturing of insulation products."

There were 72 applicants for this year's Sword of Honour, with just 54 applicants securing the appropriate pass standard, reinforcing the rigorous standards employed by the British Safety Council. The Chief Adjudicator's report highlighted that submissions demonstrated "a genuine commitment to promoting a genuine health and safety culture".
