The company has recently won a National Recycling Award and the BIFM award for Innovation in Products.

Rob Mouser, Managing Director of Plastic Surgeon said: "Last year we saved 64,938 items from landfill and carried out 208,221 repairs, this award gives us credible recognition for our commitment to sustainability. By signing up to the WRAP Halving Waste to Landfill Scheme, we can formalise our commitment to improving sustainability and further measure our success."

The Scheme has a simple statement of intent: "We commit to playing our part in halving the amount of construction, demolition and excavation waste going to landfill by 2012. We will work to adopt and implement standards for good practice in reducing waste, recycling more, and increasing the use of recycled and recovered materials."

By carrying out cosmetic repairs, Plastic Surgeon can assist builders and contractors to improve their waste management dramatically. Legislation, such as the legally enforceable requirement of Site Waste Management Plans for any project valued at over £300,000 will only increase, so a long-term commitment to repair rather than replace will become ever more important. Plastic Surgeon’s expert repair and fine finishing service is quickly expanding into new sectors such as social housing, facilities management and insurance as more companies see the value in reducing waste and sending items to landfill.

VisibilITy and Control - Plastic Surgeon provide construction, FM and housebuild customers with full visibility and control, from quotations right through to invoicing. The in-house team of IT specialists have designed highly sophisticated, yet simple to use systems that give customers the fine detail on all their construction repair projects – Ideal for them to manage their site waste programmes.

The VisibilITy online reporting system provides comprehensive data, including detailed statistics on landfill savings, cost per repair and site specific information.

WRAP works in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to help businesses and individuals reap the benefits of reducing waste, develop sustainable products and use resources in an efficient way.
