ABNORMAL LOADS & WIDE LOADS TRANSPORT
Moving abnormal loads and wide loads requires expert planning, specialist equipment, and full compliance with UK road regulations. Falcon Freight provides end-to-end transport solutions for oversized and overweight cargo, from route surveys and permits to escort vehicles and safe delivery nationwide.
A wide load generally refers to a vehicle or item that is wider than standard dimensions allowed on UK roads. While not all wide loads qualify as abnormal loads, many do. These movements may need additional signage, route clearance, and escort support.

Heavy haulage refers to the specialised transport of exceptionally large or heavy loads such as machinery and industrial equipment that exceed standard road weight or size limits. With over 300t of test weights ranging from cheese weights to pyramid weights to slab weights, Falcon Freight Ltd can supply what is required for testing any lifting application. The pyramid weights have been specifically designed and manufactured by the company to act as a test bed, to ensure safe and efficient use.
Rigging Mats
Along with logistics, Falcon Freight Ltd owns over 150 timber rigging mats for mobile cranes and other applications. Ranging from 5m x 1m x 150mm to 3m x 1m x 150mm, each mat can be expertly placed with our range of Hiab’s and tractor units. Our sites in Dunstable, Norfolk and Manchester mean we are perfectly to supply nationally.
