About Steve Duckworth Electrical Ltd
15 years ago I decided to start my own business. I did this because I felt passionately about a few things;
I want our customers to feel like they’ve had a really great service, that we look after them and that we’ll go the extra mile.
We only install the best quality products that will stand up against any alternatives in the market.
We may not be the cheapest but we consistently deliver value for money – and we have our customers best interest at heart.
And as the business has grown, these are the values that the business holds dear to this day.
The added bonus is that we’re helping businesses and households to cut bills and go greener.
With over 30 years’ experience in the electrical industry I found myself looking to technology to help me reduce my impact on the world. I had seen Solar PV systems talked about and decided to do my own research. In August 2011 I installed my first Solar PV system on my house, once I had satisfied myself that the tech really did work, I decided to register as an installer. In 2014 I moved to a new house that needed it's very old oil boiler replacing, whilst looking for alternatives I was introduced to Air Source Heat Pumps, again, I installed one on my house and found that it did exactly what it was supposed to do, so I registered as an installer. In 2016 Tesla introduced it's Powerwall battery system, I registered my interest to be an installer and to my astonishment I was accepted, one of the first 50 in the country to be registered as a Tesla Certified Installer. We’ve grown a little since those days but I’m still amazed by how much energy can be produced from a roof in the north of England. We now specialise in integrated renewable solutions and have many satisfied customers, all enjoying their reduced energy bills and reliance on the grid.
Commercial Services
Steve Duckworth Electrical installs and maintains Solar PV and battery systems for our commercial clients. We installed our first large scale Solar PV system in 2013 and have continued installed and maintain systems for a myriad of industries and clients including: Industrial, commercial, agricultural, local authorities, religious organisations, colleges and universities.
Our approach to all our installations is to plan the project to have the least impact on the client's day to day business activities but have the greatest impact on the reduction of their energy consumption & CO2 foot print. We undertake all the aspects of the installation in house, from design through DNO approval and finally installation and commissioning. All our installations are carried out by our fully employed, trained members of staff.
Domestic Services
Steve Duckworth Electrical installs and maintains Domestic Solar PV, Tesla Powerwall and Air Source Heat Pump systems.
We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and quality of installation. A personal approach to all our work ensures that our customers are totally satisfied with the installation of their system. We have selected a small number of high-quality manufacturers that share our ethos. We are Vaillant Renewable Partners, SolarEdge Advanced Installers and Tesla Energy Certified Installers. These accreditations are evidence that we strive to keep our customers happy whilst achieving the highest standard of installation. We are also registered with the NICEIC for the electrical aspect of our work and the MCS accreditation needed to install Solar PV and Air Source Heat Pumps in the UK.

Our approach to all the work we carry out ensures that our customers are totally satisfied with the installation of their system. We are very proud to have been selected by Tesla, as one of the first companies in the country to be allowed to install their fantastic Powerwall battery system.
Domestic Solar PV Systems
Steve Duckworth Electrical has over 10 years experience in fitting Solar Panel Systems on domestic, commercial, educational, agricultural and ecclesiastical properties. With our trained and experienced staff we able to install and Solar PV installations. We have been installing Solar PV systems since 2011 and offer a friendly personal service. With over 30 years experience in the electrical industry we can tailor your design to fit seamlessly in to your property.
Air Source Heat Pumps
We have been installing Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) since August 2014. This fantastic piece of equipment creates hot water, it will heat your house and provide all your hot water requirements in the same way as a normal boiler. The difference between a normal boiler and a ASHP is that you get up to 4kW of heat for every Kilowatt of electricity, that’s up to 400% efficient.
