About Central Controls Ltd
Control panels and Automation systems
Central Controls produces industrial electrical control panels featuring automation, PLC programming, HMI design and instrumentation/telemetry.Control Panels
We can design, construct and commission control panels; from simple start/stop switches to multi-cabintet, distributed process automation systems. We use high quality components - Siemens for preference, though we are happy to source components to your specification. Our panels are built by qualified electricians and experienced wiremen.PLC programming
We use Siemens S700/1200 PLC's as standard, though we are equally able to work with Alan Bradley/Rockwell, Mitsubishi, and Hitachi units. We program the PLC's for all our Control Systems and Panels, but we are also happy to discuss work on your own panels.
HMI Design
HMI - or Human Machine Interface - was a jargon term for the layout of switches and indicators on a physical control panel. More recently it has come to mean a "virtual" control panel on a computer screen; either a dedicated display screen, or a Windows (or MAC) computer using HTML.Our developers can produce sophisticated HMI virtual panels, either using the built-in firmware on dedicated display screens, or through DHMTL on your desktop computer. Or both !
Safety Systems
CCL can integrate safety into our automation systems, including interlock logic, upstream/downstream cutouts, and sensors such as laser curtains, proximity sensors, smart clothing, and biometrics. Other standard features can include door and inspection hatch sensor interlocks and staff-operated emergency actuators such as pull-cords and - of course - the good old-fashioned Emergency Stop red "mushroom" buttons.Remote Monitoring and Management
We can leverage the built-in web server of the Siemens S-range of PLC's to provide DHTML access from computers on your shop floor... or within your building... or from anywhere around the world, subject to your internal IT network and policies. With password-based user-accreditation this can be used for passive monitoring of key systems or metrics (throughput etc), all the way up to direct control. This is invaluable for linking our panels into a central control centre, whilst also allowing individual managers to monitor specific aspects of the system.Gallery
