Direct Window Co

We ordered a replacement conservatory roof in November 2025. Due to inclement weather this was delayed until May 2026. The criteria as set out by Direct Windows was - 2 teams for 3 dry days to complete the work. The wooden floor was not to get wet and be covered completely. On first visit we were told men would clear the room on second visit we were asked to clear as much as we could and workmen would put the heavy furniture in the garden protected from the weather . During the recent heatwave the work was started, not on the Tuesday as arranged but on the Wednesday 27th May. The first day was dry but I checked the forecast in the afternoon and said that rain was forecast that night. The men disagreed with me. There was a thunderstorm. The roof had been removed and there was no covering it was open to the elements. On that same day only 3 workmen turned up, on second day initially one man arrived and was joined by another later. They did not check the floor although the window sills were very wet as was the floor covering. The workmen said they had a full days work to do and did not take the time to check the floor. On the third day we had two if the original men. At no time did we have the two teams required. The two men lifted the floor covering to find our wooden floor was very wet. The workment did their best drying the floor etc but it was obviously damaged, the room very dirty. The men left just after 6pm. At no time was the job project managed or have we had contact or visits from senior management to arrange any repairs or inspection of the floor. A very poor service given all the criteria etc that was intimated before the job started. It is an overwhelming situation we have been left with given we are both very close to 80 years old, no local family, one with a blue badge due to mobility issues, other partially sighted with arthritis. A very poor service and not at all what we were told would happen . After 2 weeks with no real contact from the company, we still have a very dirty conservatory, our dining room has all the additional furniture that should be housed in the conservatory. A very poorly managed job and we would appreciate some input from someone in authority at Direct Windows.
