Kelston Sparkes Group take delivery of a new GipoKombi RC150 FDR Impact Crusher from material processing experts AGG PRO

The Kelston Sparkes Group (KSG Ltd) was founded by the late Mr Kelston Sparkes in 1952 initially as an agricultural contractor. Now in its 68th year of trading the company remains a family run business specialising in earthworks, earthmoving, quarrying and crushing & screening.
During this time the company has grown to become one of the largest and most respected earthmoving and quarrying contractors in the UK.
In keeping with the company ethos of continuous development by investing in the latest innovative solutions to maintain the rigorous standards set by KSG Ltd and the blue chip companies with whom they partner, they have recently taken delivery of a new GipoKombi RC 150 FDR from Tamworth based AGG PRO, the UK & Ireland agent for Gipo AG.

GipoKombi units are a highly efficient processing system with crusher, product screen and a pre-screen mounted on a single tracked chassis. Where previously it was necessary to use multiple machines to produce a final graded product, now only one is required to do so.
This gives major cost advantages in acquisition, transport, labour, fuel consumption and environmental load.
At the heart of the machine is the Gipo P150 Impact Crusher with variable speed 1300 mm diameter rotor, 1.5m feed opening, hydraulic CSS adjustment and hydraulic blockage release. An underpan vibratory feeder regulates material surges.
Crushed material passes over a large capacity screen with oversize material travelling, via the return conveyor, to the hopper for re-crushing. This way it is possible to achieve 100% product passing at the required size.
A hydraulically operated bypass chute means that the change to crusher run materials can easily be made.
Operation director Mr Kelston Stark takes up the story.
“Having renewed a contract with a long-term client we were in the market for a new machine to increase our production capabilities but with very specific machine requirements. After talking to a few suppliers it quickly became apparent that AGG PRO & Gipo AG were the only company able to meet our needs. We found it refreshing that that they were able to build a machine to our exact requirements rather than modify a standard machine to suit. As this machine will be moving a lot as it follows the quarry face it made sense to go with a GipoKombi plant with crusher and screener on a single chassis thus considerably speeding up relocation.
We already have a good relationship with the team at AGG PRO and after a visit to the Gipo factory in Switzerland, a decision was made to add another Gipo machine to the fleet”.
Creasey Crushing & Screening Opts For McCloskey Excellence

In 2015, Lincolnshire based David Creasey founded Creasey Crushing & Screening Ltd with just two members of staff in a local quarry. Shortly afterwards, David secured the lease on a second quarry and purchased a small number of machines, enabling him to dig block stone and screen walling stone.

By early 2016, after eight months of running old, temperamental equipment, David made the decision to invest in a McCloskey J45 Crusher from Agg Pro. With an increase in external contracting work, David needed a reliable fleet of machinery along with a larger team to help him carry out work to a high standard.

By 2018, David had grown his fleet of McCloskey machines to include an R105 Scalper, J45 Pre-Screen Crusher, an S190 Triple Deck Screener and a further J45 Crusher for hire contracts. A true advocate for McCloskey machinery and with a need for greater production and a larger hopper, David upgraded his R105 Scalper to an R155.

Business has continued to go from strength to strength and has increased the need for top class, highly productive machinery. Earlier this year, Creasey's added a third J45 Crusher and a second R155 Scalper due to expansion in their hire business.

Sadly in March 2019, after a short battle with cancer, David passed away.

David's sons, William, Harry and Josh have taken over the family business and continued the Creasey legacy of providing a great service to their customers supplying block stone and aggregate, machinery hire and external crushing and screening contracts.

Dave is no doubt looking down on William, Harry and Josh with great pride. Agg Pro are honoured to have supported the business by providing a great range of McCloskey machinery and look forward to a continued close working relationship with the Creasey team.

Central Waste Chooses McCloskey Quality

Founded in 2009 on Wigwam Lane, Nottingham, Central Waste UK offers skip hire with first class customer service and have built up a loyal customer base. On receipt of waste materials back on site, Central Waste deals with all separation and recycling of waste where possible. The main materials which are recycled on a daily basis are topsoil, 6f2 aggregate, wood, cardboard, minimal waste is sent to landfill.

Around four years ago, with an increase in waste materials on site, Central Waste made the decision to construct a large shed to contain waste for sorting and alleviate it from being spread around the site, ensuring the local environment was kept clear of debris.

Following this, 18 months ago, new offices were installed for the staff as they recognised the welfare of their employees is paramount to a successful business.

More recently, Central Waste has provided the addition of a grab lorry service which has proved very popular, therefore there has been a marked increase in waste arriving on site.

Owner of Central Waste UK, Dave Robinson, recognised the need to increase his fleet of material recycling equipment and sought out the expert advice of Matt Williams, one of Agg Pro's leading Sales Team.

Having reviewed the current increase in volume of material processed, Matt advised the most efficient, cost effective equipment would be a McCloskey J40v2. The J40 tracked crusher is a highly portable machine and at just 2.5m wide, perfect for a site where mobility is key with limited space to maneuver. Equipped with a high capacity Hardox hopper, deeper jaw box and fast jaw speed, the J40 can produce stockpiles of 3.47m from the main conveyor and 2.5m from the side conveyor, a welcome addition to any recycling plant!

Dave was very pleased with his new purchase and the service received from Agg Pro, from a timely delivery to one of our engineers assisting with the set-up and full employee training followed up by ongoing maintenance and support from the team. So pleased in fact, he has also added a McCloskey R105 to add to their ever expanding fleet of McCloskey machines supplied by Agg Pro!

CESL Takes Delivery Of A New McCloskey J50v2 From Agg Pro

Aggregate processing and recycling is an ever expanding industry within the UK market, therefore it is imperative for companies to source the best equipment for the job.

Based in the heart of Lincolnshire, Construction & Environmental Services Ltd (CESL) was founded 20 years ago, primarily as a heavy haulage company, and has since expanded into Plant & Crusher Hire, Grab & Sweeper Hire, site clearance and aggregate processing and supply.

With the aggregate side of the business becoming more prevalent, CESL acquired Stainby Limestone Quarry in Lincolnshire. Due to high demand Contracts and Operations Manager, Lee Craighead, was in need of the most efficient machine to process material on site, previously using a smaller machine they felt an upgrade was imperative.

Having sought expert advice from Agg Pro's, Tom Elgin, it was decided the McCloskey J50 Jaw Crusher would be the most effective equipment for the needs of the business.

Lee commented: "McCloskey are one of the best brands of crusher in the industry, significantly better built than the majority of the competition."

Having a fleet of McCloskey machinery already in use on site to include an S130 double deck, R105 and S190 4-way triple deck, Lee specifically appreciates the simplicity of a McCloskey machine with minimal set up time, substantial processing speed and easy maintenance.

The J50 was the obvious choice as a mid-size machine with large jaw size and optimal crush speeds. This robust piece of kit is able to handle large limestone material with ease to create various grades of saleable Limestone product.

Lee stated: "The J50 covers a niche market as there are no other crushers in the same category with the same jaw capacity."

CESL Managing Director, Andrew Kirby, confirmed: "McCloskey machines are the best value for money on the market. They have a high production rate and little downtime, therefore are the most cost-effective equipment to buy."

Another happy customer!

MJB Calls On Agg Pro's Expertise For New Plant Machinery

Founded by Matthew Berrett, MJB Excavations & Plant Hire Ltd is a family owned business, going from strength to strength, established as one of Yorkshire's leading excavation and plant hire specialists.

Having an extensive background within the recycling, plant hire and groundworks sectors, with his 'hands on' approach, Matthew is at the forefront of managing a successful business and acknowledging where there is a need for focus.

MJB has recently acquired and developed a state of the art, 8-acre recycling plant to facilitate production of 10 recycled products to include but not exclusive to type 1, gabion stone and pipe bedding.

The new recycling plant provides a convenient location for contractors to utilise the free tip for clean hardcore, ensuring prompt deliveries across Yorkshire and also providing a bottomless supply of quality aggregate and topsoil.

Due to this recent expansion, Matthew sought out the assistance of Agg Pro's Tom Elgin to find out which machinery would be most cost effective and efficient to process the extra material being processed on site.

Taking into account the type and quantity of product to be handled, the McCloskey J45 Jaw Crusher was the superior choice to enhance the MJB portfolio. Matthew was extremely impressed by the simplicity of use of the J45, with uncomplicated hydraulic valves operating each conveyor or feeder and adjustment of the crusher setting while the plant is running.

The most outstanding aspect of the J45 for Matthew was how efficient the pre-screen option is and the clever management of the feeder and pre-screen combined to ensure only clean products were being crushed and all other products were bypassed. The clearances under the crusher and drop down conveyor dealt with whatever rebar was thrown at the crusher. Matthew stated 'it's clear it has been designed from an engineering point of view and for ease of use'.

N Jagger Ltd, Yorks experts in demolition, plant hire and commercial recycling, purchase a McCloskey J45 from Agg Pro

Working within a 30 mile radius of York, at N Jagger Ltd, our well established team have worked tirelessly for over 35 years to provide a superior level of service to our growing client base, one that is not merely of the highest quality, but competitively priced too.

Nigel Jagger Ltd have now purchased four crushers from Tom Elgin, Area Sales Manager for the North East, as they are always guaranteed a personal touch along with unrivalled back up and after sales service.

Knowing the extent of the project, Metcalfe Farms were on the look out for the best Impact Crusher for the task, therefore it was a great opportunity for Aggregate Processing & Recycling (AGG PRO) to fully understand the requirements of the job in hand and offer their expert advice.
AGG PRO supplied a McCloskey I54 to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the equipment.
