About Multisport Tennis Courts Ltd

Designers and Builders of Quality Sports Surfaces.

Our Work
All of our new sites are levelled by our own machine driver using our own excavator. Using the latest laser technology we can prepare a formation to very fine tolerances.

The courts are constructed by our own skilled foremen who work with semi-skilled labourers from the beginning to the end of construction.

All of our employees have had many years experience of tennis court construction and surfacing.

We employ our own tennis court sprayer using our own equipment which will colour spray the surface of the courts using top quality coatings from the best suppliers.

Tennis Courts
A tennis court is an investment and whatever the type of surface you need from all round family use to championship level tennis we have the surface to match your needs.

What size is a tennis court?
The generally accepted ‘standard’ size of a private court is 110 feet by 54 feet. As the playing lines for a doubles court are 78 feet by 36 feet this will leave you with a runback at each end of 16 feet and a side run off of 9 feet.

If the standard of play is very good and you have the space, you could consider a larger court of 114 feet by 56 feet (LTA recommended minimum for club use) or 120 feet by 60 feet (International Standard). Of course where space is restricted it is sometimes necessary to reduce the size of the court. If the ground is sloping , you will need an area larger than the court measurements to allow for the creation of banks when the site is levelled. It is normal to leave a flat margin 18’’ wide around the outside of the perimeter drain if required.

Our range consists of five tennis court surfaces: Tennigreen, Black Macadem, Tennidec, Tennigrass and Tech-Tone. Each has its own characteristics and maintenance requirements so which one is right for you?

  • Tennigreen
Tennigreen is an all weather bitumen bound surface which is mixed on site. It is a good all round surface which requires the minimum amount of maintenance. Tennigreen is a low cost surface and only suitable for a private court.

  • Black Macadem
Black Macadem, the original non-attention surface is a hot bitumen macadam which is mixed at an asphalt coating plant and delivered to site, hot, in lorries. The surface is a grit free close textured finish which is porous and requires no general maintenance. Black Macadem is non slip and produces a slow to medium pace game with a reasonably high ball bounce.

  • Tennideck
Tennideck is a luxury macadem with latex additive as used by most reputable companies. Tennideck is a durable, grit free, porous, allweather surface which is less susceptible to softening in hot weather than standard bitumen courts. Tennideck is a medium pace surface with a lower ball bounce than a standard macadam court. Tennideck is the most popular surface for use in tennis clubs and for private courts.

  • Tech-Tone
Tech-Tone is a sealed acrylic surface which is non porous. More suited to indoor use in this country, it is however an all weather, maintenance free surface. Tech-Tone is available as a hard or cushioned surface which has fine rubber granules added. In its cushioned form it is less tiring to play on. Tech-Tone is generally a medium to fast game with low ball bounce. Tech-Tone is used throughout the world at major centres where a high quality fast surface is required.

  • Tennigrass
Tennigrass is an artificial grass using a polypropylene carpet with silica and sand infill. The superior construction of the carpet makes it suitable for tennis or as a general purpose play area. The visual appearance is that of natural grass and the playing characteristics are similar. Tennigrass is available in several specifications to meet different requirements.

Fencing is an important part of the finishing of a multisport surface. We have a range of quality fencing products suitable for all sports installations.
