Wessex Gasworks Limited

This company has some good reviews but my experience was different.

I called Wessex GasWorks out as my gas boiler stopped working. The engineer fixed it by removing the cover and spinning the fan with his finger. 5 minutes work and a £69 charge. He did not try to lubricate anything or check whether anything would warp with heat to foul the fan or check for any intermittent electrical connections. No tools or consumables needed!

When I questioned the invoice, I was told the boiler was not working when they arrived and was working when they left so it was justified. This is how they measure job success and hence customer statisfaction. I understand there is a call-out charge but I expect more than a flick of a finger and 5 minutes of work.

I suspect I will be calling someone else out in the near future when it fails again to provide a longer term fix.
