Chandos were working with Keepmoat on a new build opposite our business premises. One road in and one road out. They tried to close our road (half Council & half privately owned) for 3 weeks, restricting access both in and out. This was because they had “forgot” to dig the road up for the pipes before the houses were built and as the lady who was in charge of permits was off for six months - it was overlooked!! When we didn’t agree to this, they closed it anyway. No one from Chandos or Keepmoat wanted to help us. MCR City Council had to come out and reopen it - confirming it was an illegal road closure and no permits were in place even though they lied and told us they had all the correct permits. Not being able to trade we requested loss of earning to them - to which their Director, Danny Molly replied ‘if you think we owe you money take us to Court’. We are a CIC - currently converting to a Charity and are not in a position to loose any trade. We are there for the Community that they were building houses for!! Our customers arrived to a full road closure with no access to us. After being completely messed about by them we did eventually take them to court for monies owed. They said they intended to defend but didn’t file in time.....(maybe that lady was off also). We now have judgement and they are still making us chase them around to what must be pennies to them! Arrogant and oblivious.
